There are two graphics, one of a fat cat reading a comic-book like thing and a man at his computer with a megaphone and other social media icons around that.

It’s hard to grab people’s attention in 2024. It can feel like a lot of businesses are better at social media than you.

Creating content can be time-consuming and challenging.

Many small businesses struggle to post even though it helps them stay top-of-mind.

Storytelling is an innovative way for small businesses to connect with people who care, who want to be fans and supporters of your business.

Sharing a brand story consistently can showcase your impact, build a local following, and customer loyalty.

Your stories create opportunities for a closer connection with your audience.

Putting energy into telling your story will help you for years to come.

After grad school, I helped universities across the country better tell their stories to potential international students. I found that storytelling wasn’t just about rankings or numbers. It was finding what people connect with, what helps them remember your business or brand over another.

When I left my marketing career, I knew I wanted to focus on writing stories that spark people’s curiosity and imagination.

I founded MP Storytelling LLC to help people create stories for their brand who don’t have the support of a marketing team.

Your story matters. I’m here to support you in telling engaging stories to your audience.

I have an MFA in Writing and Poetics from the Jack Kerouac School at Naropa University. I have a PhD in English from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I moved home to San Diego after grad school. Now, I live in Oceanside, California with my wife, Jennifer, and our two cats Bartlet and Ash.
